One more thing…

What emerges on the paper knows something you don’t.

One of the most mysterious and moving aspects of this process is what happens in the Reveal phase — when you stop and truly look at what has appeared on the paper.

You didn’t plan these images. You didn’t consciously choose them. And yet they are there — figures, symbols, colors, relationships — that carry meaning your thinking mind didn’t construct and cannot fully explain.

When you enter into dialogue with those images — when you ask them who they are, what they want, what they know — something opens. Participants find themselves in conversation with parts of themselves they had forgotten, or never met. With grief they haven’t finished. With strength they didn’t know they had. With a version of themselves that is more whole than the one they walked in with.

The painting becomes a mirror. And it shows you the truth.
